That sounds like a great gig for the right person.  I'm impressed that the state government has actually seen the light, and are now promoting production in Georgia.

The 7th Annual GRAY'S REEF NATIONAL MARINE SANCTUARY OCEAN FILM FESTIVAL provides filmmakers and audiences a unique opportunity to celebrate a shared passion for the ocean through cinema in the romantic coastal city of Savannah, Georgia where one can feel and smell the sea breeze. The Festival presents a solid lineup of ocean-themed films that explore our relationship to the sea, the coastlines, islands, and the estuarine environments.

The Festival’s program of ocean-related films is screened to the public free of charge in an effort to educate, inspire, and foster a spirit of ocean stewardship. The Festival has exhibited an impressive host of premieres and award-winners including the World Premiere of the ground-breaking pic PROTEUS, the US premiere of SHARKWATER, and Werner Herzog’s ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD.

MORE ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Gray's Reef is produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Hmmmmmmmm . . . . . Of course a great number of successful movies have been made with great talent, and no "Names."  It comes down to ROI (Return On Investment).  How much is he going to cost?  SAG benefits?  How many copies on average has his movies sold on DVD? Once you crunch the numbers, that will tell you Yes, or No.  Nothing else is going to do it.

"Lost" JAMES BROLIN Suspense Thriller TRAPPED (1973, USA) @ The Bean!
13 E. Park Ave.

Here's a nail-biting shocker that wowed audiences back when it was first screened on U.S. TV (and later in theaters around the world under the alternate title DOBERMAN PATROL). Mr. BARBARA STREISAND (and father of his modern day movie hunk JOSH), JAMES BROLIN stars as Chuck Brenner, a good-hearted father who's mugged and knocked unconscious in the bathroom of a massive department store while shopping. He awakens after business hours all alone, but surrounded by vicious overnight security dogs who've been trained to kill! What follows is a tense game of cat-and-mouse as Brolin tries not only to escape the locked store but simply to survive against a gang of bloodthirsty beasts! Don't miss this forgotten gem directed by the screenwriter of the classic horror flick DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW. Seating begins at 7:30 pm for ALL-AGES.

Little-Known, Influential Slasher Film BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974, Canada) @ The Sentient Bean!
13 E. Park Ave.
Savannah , Georgia|11 31401
Cost: $5

Just in time for the holidays we offer a rare, public screening of one of the least-known, but most influential horror films of the past 40 years - director BOB CLARK'S BLACK CHRISTMAS. This low-budget "killer on the loose in a sorority house" cult classic was made a full four years before JOHN CARPENTER directed HALLOWEEN, a movie that is widely regarded as the original, modern-day slasher film. However, BLACK CHRISTMAS shares the same "masked killer terrorizing folks on a holiday" theme, and it is widely accepted among horror film buffs that Carpenter was greatly inspired and influenced by this criminally unsung gem. Featuring an impressive cast including KEIR DULLEA (2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY), MARGOT KIDDER (SUPERMAN), JOHN SAXON (TENEBRAE, THE CYNIC THE RAT & THE FIST) and even a rare dramatic turn by ANDREA MARTIN (SCTV), it's a first-rate chiller whose original marketing line was "If this movie doesn't make your skin crawl, it's on too tight!" We're proud to screen the definitive, Widescreen, restored director's cut just one night before Christmas Eve. Don't you dare miss it! Seating begins at 7:30pm for MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY, with special Christmas door prizes to be given away before the film...
